HERE'S TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN TRYING TO KEEP ME DOWN GOT THEIR FINGERSIN MY COLLAR I FIND IT SO FUNNY TO HEAR HOW MUCH THEY HATE Thalia was bored. The daughter of Zeus was no one important to this, only Annabeth, Percy, and Jason wanted her input, but the Romans didn't necessarily want anyone else but who really needed to be involved to be involved in the planning. The seven demigods were the ones most valued, plus Reyna - none of them included Thalia. Therefore, for once in her life, she took a step back and only spoke when it was needed. She didn't speak to thin air, and she didn't speak to brick walls - she wasn't stupid, she wasn't a fool, and she knew what she was doing. That being said, she thought that quite a few things were being done wrong by those in charge, especially since, for the most part, the two opposite camps were being left to themselves, to interact on their own terms, something Thalia found highly illogical. She was surprised there hadn't been any bloodshed by then, but then again, maybe the Greeks were trying to be kind. She knew that the Greeks that wouldn't give the Romans a second chance were being watched heavily, she wasn't being watched because she was a Lieutenant of the Hunt, and it wouldn't be becoming of her to defy Artemis' direct orders like that, but she knew that none of the Romans were being watched like some of their Greeks were because the Romans were 'disciplined'. Personally, Thalia thought that if Luke could get through their ranks and pretend to be one of them, they needed a lot more than discipline to save them. Really, she didn't expect them to know by themselves - she figured that the gods would've intervened, but they hadn't. Maybe if the Romans noticed more, they would've been able to know that he wasn't who he said he was.
Ever since she'd run into him in the barracks area of Camp Jupiter, he'd been weighing heavily on her mind. The few Hunters that she had with her hadn't noticed, and only Annabeth had heard from her that Luke was the Greek within the Roman's ranks. She didn't know who else knew, but she knew he'd been hanging low. And now? What was she doing, torturing herself? For what? She sighed - she knew she was going to drive herself, up a wall, for no good reason. Just like Annabeth was doing with Percy, because she wouldn't bring herself to have an actual conversation with her. She'd been dodging and weaving as Thalia stood back and watched it happen, and she doubted poor Seaweed Brain even had a clue what was going through his girlfriend's head. Then again, wasn't she doing the exact same thing with the son of Hermes in the first cohort? It wasn't like she was doing any better than Annabeth - or Jason, for that matter. Jason, who somehow managed to have two girls hanging off of him, who had just barely regained his memory - she found it amusing that everyone involved was having some sort of issue with other people. Stupid Hera, always causing trouble. She would never understand what drove Zeus to be her husband. She knew that the gods could read minds, that Hera had probably heard her, but really? The gods had a lot bigger problems than what some of the demigods their husbands had cheated on them to produce. She with-held a snort. If she died an eventual death of being overrun by a set of wild peacocks, she wouldn't be surprised.
The Hunter walked off the Argo II, not finding anything to do to take her mind off of everything that was running through it at the moment. She wasn't a thinker - never had been. She was a do'er. Everything she did, she did on gut feeling, on impulse. She never stopped to take a second and think a plan through, she worked with what she had, she went with the flow and dug her own way around things. She wasn't Annabeth - she couldn't plan ahead, she couldn't make sense of things unless she in the heat of the moment, and working under stress and pressure with things going full force around her was when she pulled out her best leadership. People just listened to her - despite looking fifteen, she was smart, with experience to boot, and she knew what she was doing. People didn't question that - especially the Greeks. She knew that the Romans had their own ways of doing things, but she also knew that as time progressed, the pressure would get to the ones who couldn't handle it, and bring forth the ones who could. She wondered if Luke would be among them, if there was any way that he could get the Greeks to believe that he had changed, that he was on the right side and that he didn't want to cause any harm. She didn't know how she knew that, but she did. She could tell. After all, why would he be in Camp Jupiter, all by himself, pretending that he was just another demigod, if he didn't want to help, if he didn't want to be normal. Things hadn't gone that way for him at Camp Half-Blood, but who said they couldn't do that here. The daughter of Zeus bit down on her tongue, moving her thoughts to the way the sky looked rather than think about anything serious. All of a sudden, as she was walking away from the ship, she spotted a girl -- observing it? She recognized her - Hazel, her mame was. She was one of the seven, the ones that everyone knew would magically "save" them all from Gaea. Thalia walked over to her, Hunter's silver camo and circlet sitting atop her head as always, and stood next to her, looking up at the ship. "It might look big from the outside, but wait until you get inside," she said to the daughter of Pluto. "It's ten times bigger." She paused. "Thalia, daughter of Zeus, Lieutenant Hunter of Artemis. You're Hazel, daughter of ... Pluto, right?" Her tone wasn't friendly, but not nearly as bad as it could be.

The camp had never been so crowded, and Hazel couldn't remember the last time she felt so nervous. Not that she was probably one of the seven in the prophecy, something she couldn't even possibly imagine nor see herself as, but because she felt so... claustrophobic for some reason. The tension between the roman and the greeks in the air was so tense, it was palpable, and Hazel felt a bit nervous at the possibility of being caught in the middle of a demigod war. Frank was busy being called by Reyna to do various tasks, Luke had been as hard tof ind as a needle in a haystack ever since the Argo landed and with Percy meeting reuniting with his old friends and possibly trying to make sure none of them killed each other, Hazel was left quite alone. Not that she wasn't used to it, she's always been in that state even before the trip to Alaska, but... its never been under so much pressure.
It was times like this that Hazel wished Nico was still around, and oh how she missed her brother. Even if she knew Nico was probably looking at her as a form of replacement for Bianca, Hazel couldn't help but be grateful for her brother there. It was at the very least, some form of support, and her brother knew her every nuance and quirk, not to mention he understood the whys of her every action. No weird stares from him when she yelled at someone to pick up the gem that had just popped up at their feet. Right now it was all Hazel could do to make sure they didn't start growing around her like mushrooms after the rain.
Wandering around camp pointlessly seemed like the best option currently, and though Hazel would've much preferred to get on Arion for a ride, knowing her horse she would probably end up in England in the next half hour, so she opted for the safer choice. In jeans and a typical tank top that was normal for the daughter of Pluto, her hair was wound up in one of those messy buns as she trudged down from where she had been sitting at the temple of Pluto, cultivating a couple more gold bars and diamonds. At times, Hazel wished she could rebel at her father, like every other teenage daughter, and rebel at him normally. Just what right did they think they have, displacing and relocating demigods like that, just because they think they need help? Hazel wondered if the greek counterparts were as annoying as the roman ones, because at the rate they were going, its no wonder so many of the giants were out to get them. Kicking at a rock in the way of her feet as she walked, her hands were tucked in to the pockets of her skinnies as she blew a strand of her hair out of the way. Gods, so above everyone she sometimes wondered why they bothered asking for their children's help. Juno, psh. If they thought they could do everything themselves, why don't they do it?
Looking up at the end of the path she walked on, Hazel blinked when she was presented with a picture of the Greek's airship. No question about it, it was some formidable structure, and the little thirteen year old couldn't help but wonder how long did it take them to construct it. Did their children of vulcan put it together? And what about it has Luke so scared, she hardly saw him anymore? Other then Nico, Frank and Percy, Luke was probably the only other one in camp Jupiter then she actively sought out for companionship, only because he had been the only one she could go to in the first few weeks back on earth. The world frightened her, and she couldn't tell anyone why she look so bewildered with everything - that is, no one but Luke. Luke had came back with her, and he understood why, and in times it was like she had a second older brother in the mysterious kid. But where had he gone these days? Hazel had half a mind to go hunt him out, but before she could make up her mind onw hether to go or not to, a voice alerted her to a presence, and a gold bar popped up at her feet like a fast growing fern, as she whirled around.
"Oh, y-yes." she managed to stammer out, caught off guard. She's heard of Thalia, even if none of her friends had explained who that was to her, there were enough whispers flying around her camp mates about everyone available on the Argo II for Hazel to know at least some form of information on everyone. But out of everyone that had arrived, it was perhaps Thalia that intrigued Hazel the most, yet at the same time earned her respect. The daughter of Jupiter... Zeus, she guessed in the Greek's case, was formidable in her history, spending her life as a tree and then brought back to life only to spend the rest of it as a Hunter of Artemis. Perhaps it was because they both had funked up times, but maybe that was why Hazel probably felt less weirded out in Thalia's presence. Frowning at the gold bar next to her feet, Hazel bit her lip, hoping that Thalia would at least not question on the odd way precious metal seem to react around her, before asking "Do... you not want our campers around your ship?" she asked, understanding perfectly if she said yes. Afterall, the campers from camp Jupiter weren't exactly happy about Greeks in their camp either, but they only beared it for Percy and now Jason, now that he was back. But perhaps that could explain why Luke was always the furthest away from teh Argo II?

HERE'S TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN TRYING TO KEEP ME DOWN GOT THEIR FINGERSIN MY COLLAR I FIND IT SO FUNNY TO HEAR HOW MUCH THEY HATE Nico - if he never really weighed on Thalia's mind before, he did now. He was being held captive, by Gaea, somewhere in Rome. How ... couldn't even stomach the thought of that being her, or Luke, or Annabeth, or even Percy. Soon, the seven of the prophecy would go and rescue him, they would go and they would save him because for the moment, all they could do was chase Gaea down, try and defeat her monsters, save their own, and not let their numbers suffer too much. Thalia had never felt more helpless in her life. She couldn't lead anything, she couldn't help anyone, all she could do was sit back and give Annabeth small bits of advice, and usually, the advice she needed dealt with Percy. It was driving Thalia up the wall, but it wasn't like she could do anything about it. She was Lieutenant of the Hunt. not one of the seven, not anyone important really, and Thalia had always needed to feel important. Without Artemis there, without half of her Hunters there, Thalia was pretty much just another Greek, and this irritated her more than she could ever explain. It would keep her up at night, itching at her skin, proving more and more how powerless she felt, and her fatal flaw had always been her thirst for power. Now, she would stay on the Argo II and stare at the ceiling and wonder what she'd ever done to wind up in this situation. She had never had the best of luck ... but then again, at least she hadn't been kidnapped by Gaea. That was a plus. She felt a dark snort rising within her, because everything was so amusing when there was nothing to be amused at, but she held back. She had more control than that. Nico's situation was no joke, even if she couldn't do a thing about it.
Thalia had pushed long-kept anger at the gods away from her mind, for the moment. She really had a lot to be angry at. She could be angry at Zeus, for her turning her into a tree instead of helping her in a more productive manner. Then again, he could've left her to die. She could've been angry at Hera, for taking Jason from her. Then again, Jason could've really been kidnapped, or murdered, and she would have never gotten him back thirteen years later, even if those thirteen years hadn't been all conscious but painful all the same. She could've been mad at Hermes, for sending Luke down the path he'd been down. Then again, he'd been sent back to the Roman camp, and was now right in front of her, and she'd actually had a conversation with him, and how could she complain when he was back from the dead? She could be angry with Aphrodite, for reasons unspoken. Then again, for the very same unspoken reasons, she could say nothing to the goddess, for she had been the one to stick the knife deeper, pour salt on the wound, yet the wound she'd acquired was probably the only one that she could honestly say she wouldn't ask any Apollo camper, nor Apollo himself, to heal. She had so many reasons to be angry, but when she tried, the rational side of her mind would shut her down straight away. She was sure it was because of her father, he surely had the same type of rational mind if only because he was Lord of Olympus, and he had to make good and rational decisions - sometimes.
Thalia raised an eyebrow at the metal that just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. She'd heard of the girl's odd ties to metals, and then deduced it to Hades - Pluto, in her case. The god had never really done anything right, and even the way that Nico spoke about him when she actually listened to him, made her nauseous at the thought of having him as a father. Not that Zeus was any better. However, she'd only been cursed with a stubborn attitude and a severe fear of heights. Hazel had metal popping up left and right, and by the girl's attitude and how quickly she had made it disappear, leaving it to sink into the ground with her own will power as the thing forcing it down, Thalia was sure that none of it could be used without severe consequences. It seemed like they all had something weighing on their shoulders - lucky them. She nodded when the girl confirmed her identity, and then took less than a second to answer the question that had seemed such a heavy effort for the girl to get out. "As long as you're not storming our ship, trying to kill us, then no, none of us have a problem with the Romans being near our ship." she said, and then sighed. "Besides, Jason would be extremely upset if we said that his kind couldn't come near us," she said, and frowned. She wouldn't do anything to make him unhappy, especially since it felt like she'd just gotten him back, even if that wasn't necessarily true. The days felt like seconds, especially when it had been years that they'd been kept apart. "As would Luke," she murmured, doubting that Hazel would hear what had slipped out. "I'm sure that you Romans don't really appreciate us here. At least there's been no murders," she said, and looked to her.

Surprising really, how they were supposed to be gods when Hazel was quite sure they've managed to mess everything up, at least when it concerns their offspring. Normal children played wargames, dolls and had burgers for dinners. The biggest worries on their mind was getting scolded by their parents or whether or not they were getting their pudding for dessert that night. For the demigod children though, the wargames were real, pudding considered a luxury, and half the time they don't even get to see their parents, godly or otherwise.
Don't get it wrong though, they do want to see their life givers, just most of the time, it was for all the wrong reasons. Take Hazel for example, she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to see Queen Marie again, for as much as the girl loved her mother, the many years Hazel spent with an unstable Queen Marie scared her. And then there was Pluto... while Hazel didn't know her father all too well, she wasn't quite sure what she held the lord of the underworld in regards to. She can't say she loved her father, exactly, but she didn't hate him too. Anger? Not for the little underworld daughter. More of a fear and neutral feelings, because as much as she wanted to get to know Pluto, the fear remained, at what he was capable of taking away from her at a moment's notice.
A little smile managed to find its way to Hazels rosebud lips, as she forced the gold bar back down to be hidden by the earth, and then refocused her attention on Thalia. "Kind? Sounds like we're species of animals." she jibed softly, tentative but still there. Hazel had always been as such, lightly teasing but ever careful with her words, because she knew just how volatile badly chosen words may be. Still, she wasn't exactly sure how the Greeks would react, so the girl tended to tread pretty carefully around them.
Frowning as she heard a word that generally resembled the name of Luke (whome she hadn't seen in a while, and she wasn't too pleased with how he was avoiding her), but brushed it aside as a trick of the wind as Thalia spoke again, her words managing to make Hazel chuckle a little "Reyna has her hands full trying to make sure little skirmishes don't break out here and there, but at least dinner was pretty uneventful last night." The tension had been so thick, she could've sliced through it with her spathea, but no vocal spars or punches had been thrown, and that in itself was a pretty amazing feat.
Looking up at the Argo once again, Hazel couldn't help but wonder, just how was the camp of their greek counterpart like? She's heard from Percy, how they were separated in cabins by their parents, and Hazel couldn't imagine being in a cabin all by herself. Wait, actually she could, and the girl wasn't too sure if being sneered at by the Fifth Cohort was a worst fate then being stuck alone, but that was a story of another day. "How do you find our camp so far? I heard its somewhat different from yours." Hazel ventured, a little awkward for one whose not versed with small talk, but she tried nontheless.

HERE'S TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN TRYING TO KEEP ME DOWN GOT THEIR FINGERSIN MY COLLAR I FIND IT SO FUNNY TO HEAR HOW MUCH THEY HATE Thalia didn't really have a childhood to speak of. She knew that demigods, in general, didn't get good childhoods. That being said, most of them didn't spend their lives on the run, on the streets, and then part of it as a tree. She was sure she pretty much won for having one of the oddest, probably one of the most traumatizing, childhoods in demigod history. Sure, the time on the streets was fun. Sure, she'd gotten a family from it - one that she hadn't had before, since she wasn't even going to try and mention Isabelle Grace and her amazing parenting skills. Jason ... he didn't get mentioned either, since really, two years was nothing. Sure, she'd taken care of him, he'd been the one thing that had kept her around, but really, two years was no time at all. Maybe she thought of it that way because she was immortal, and immortals viewed time in odd ways since they had so much of it to waste, since not every minute of every day could be productive. Literally, Thalia had been through more than some of the elderly walking the earth, and it wasn't something she'd ever be proud of. There were some demigods that wore their battle scars proudly - the daughter of Zeus, Lieutenant of Artemis, would rather pretend that she'd never gotten them in the first place.
Thalia could say that she hated Zeus without anything stopping her in her mind. She didn't have a problem with it. She and Zeus had never had a good relationship, something that was evident by the fact that he'd abandoned her - four times[once when she born, once when he came back and then left again, once when he came back to get her mother pregnant with Jason, and once a month after Jason had been born - add it up, and it's four in total] - oh, and the fact that he'd turned her into a tree instead of just saving her life, like any other godly father would've done about a child who was supposedly his favorite. Favorite - hmph. If she was his favorite, she wondered what happened to the kids he hated. She couldn't help but hate the man - he sat up there, on his high horse/throne/lightning bolt, and acted like he did everything right. It was exactly the opposite in her mind. And then there was Hera - Thalia didn't have enough time nor energy to waste hating on the goddess, so she even didn't bother.
"We are animals. How do you think we wield weapons so well? Gods are as animalistic as foxes or cougars are, and it's passed down to their kids. Simple." Thalia'd always thought that the gods were more brutal and animalistic than the animals themselves, but she'd never told that to anyone but Luke, who'd agreed with her. Annabeth had been too young, and they had been trying to keep her innocent before they'd found out that it was pretty much a lost cause. "Of course. You aren't happy about us, and we aren't happy about you." Thalia wasn't exactly one of the Greeks that was completely happy with the Romans, and she hated their uppity attitudes, despite the good things they had going for them in her mind. She already had a T-chart of pros and cons going. Thalia shrugged. "I wasn't ever at camp for a long time. As soon as I'm there, I'm gone again. The Hunters travel," Thalia said, without much elaboration. "However, my Hunters aren't too happy about being with two different camps - they weren't too approving of just the Greeks. Add in the Romans, and it's practically explosive."

Not that Hazel was surprised, at the minutely bitter tone that laced Thalia's tone as she spoke. Percy had told her before, of Thalia's history, and to be honest the girl didn't at all blame the daughter of Zeus, given what she knew of the girl. Being turned in to a tree sounded pretty harsh indeed, Hazel figured it was as bad as being stuck in Asphodel for a good 70 years with nothing to do. Then again, what were demigods if not a little dysfunctional? The most normal of demigods would have some form of oddity in their history, for really now, how could anyone be normal with a godly parent? Odd was as normal as it could get with people of her ilk, so really, Hazel wasn't surprised at all.
Still, she good naturedly gave a little grin, and shrugged at Thalia's comment on them being animals. Not far off the mark, but still, Hazel liked to think of themselves as a little more civilized then your average house dog or cat. Granted, their parents were probably worst then a beast, given how they could just leave their trails of destruction everywhere, but surely their children didn't take in so much of their genes? Maybe it was a different case for the children of Mars, but Hazel for one, really preferred to imagine a future with a husband and children, rather then war and strife.
Giving a little nod with an amused smile, Hazel once agian shrugged. "Expected." Of course, what more could this child of Pluto ask for except for reluctant acceptance? There was a reason why Juno had kept both camps apart for so many years, and the tension was palpable in the air. Living with it though, was not an option. Turning her attention back to Thalia as she spoke, Hazel was a little dissapointed at the lack of elaboration of the Greek camp. Being a curious girl, she really wanted to know how it was like back there, and with Percy being so busy, she rarely had the time to ask him. Still, she knew better then to push Thalia, testy as she was, so Hazel meekly kept her silence as Thalia finished speaking.
"Figures. There was a reason why Juno kept us apart for so long, after all.' Hazel replied, airing her musings out loud. Like Thalia and possibly the rest of her friends, Juno wasn't exactly on the top of her 'favorite relative' list, but in that instance Hazel had to admit, the queen of the gods had a point. "Why didn't the Hunters like camp Half-blood though?" came the curious girl's question. As far as she knew, the hunters of Artemis had been associated, if not closely, with camp half blood. Why would there be bad tension?
