ANYTHING ELSE:
Lux is standoffish, blunt, yet somehow still charming. People feel almost compelled to follow her, even though she hates it. She likes to be alone and to do her own thing because she always fears leading someone to their death or being the reason people die. Its not as if she doesn't trust people, its more like she doesn't trust herself to be near other people, as if she is some kind of plague.
All her life she's been pretty level headed and rational, maybe she would have fits of rashness, but never too extreme. She's reliable and steady but those qualities always seem to be offset by her blunt nature and standoffish behavior. If she had it her way she'd be travelling the world alone, but since she's stuck at camp right now she'd settle for a quiet corner and a cigarette.

HISTORY:
Really Lux should have never been born. A god and a mortal? That was horrible especially since the god that took interest in Nina Bradshore was the king of gods, Jupiter. Nina was twenty, working as a flight attendant on long flight from LA to London in the first class section of the plane. There was a particularly charming man that seemed to have taken an interest in Nina. To make a long story short the flight was long there was a lot of flirting and after sometime to join the mile high club Lux was conceived. When Nina found out she was pregnant though she couldn't find the father, she didn't even know he was a god at all.
Even though she was an accident Nina apparently loved her little girl to death, "the light of her life" she would call her, hence the name Lux. For three years Nina got to keep Lux, for three whole years they were together giving Lux horribly vague memories of a woman with long brown hair and bright blue eyes like her own. However the memories of that woman are fuzzy because when Lux turned three a man knocked on the door and took Lux away.
To this day Lux isn't sure who he is but he took her to the Wolf House and left her there. Good thing the little girl thought the "pretty wolf lady" was nothing more than a nice dog or else she would have been Lupa chow instead of being sent to Camp Jupiter. Sure the little girl missed her mommy, but she found a new home and just like most little kids do they forget and move on. However she did have something to remember her mom by, a simple leather braided bracelet that her mom had made on one of those long flights with nothing to do.
At the age of four Lux wanted to be like the big kids and join the Legion. They allowed her in because the people that lived at Camp took a liking to the charming little girl that liked to dance in the rain and play with swords. At the age of five she was accepted into the Legion in the fourth cohort. It was also when she was accepted into the Legion when she was claimed, the daughter of Jupiter, a sort of demigod.
Though Lux wasn't particularly great when it came to learning the history of Rome or the names of monsters she was good at fighting and strategy. By the time she was fifteen years old she a centurion and a senator and most thought she was bound to become praetor. However at the age of fifteen Lux was restless at Camp Jupiter. She rarely got out because when she did mosters would swarm toward her. She was restless and so were her friends Lucy daughter of Venus and Hank son of Vulcan.
Being restless stuck in Camp the three of them managed a plan to sneak out for a day, which was pretty successful, except for the fact that when they were almost to the city a chimera, a damn chimera of all the monsters appeared. It caught the three off guard, something hard to do. It swiped Lux from behind and knocked Lucy to the ground making her head smack too hard on the ground. Hank put up a good fight but by the time Lux could pull herself some ambrosia Hank was dead as well. Bleeding badly Lux grabbed her sword and fought, it seemed like forever until some other Legion members arrived just in time for Lux to kill the thing.
Lux couldn't live with herself, she blamed herself for Lucy and Hank's deaths, which caused her to pack her bags and leave Camp Jupiter. She didn't clear it with anybody she simply went AWOL. Lux basically traveled the world because if she stayed in one place too long monsters would chase her down. She had a few close calls fighting some monsters but nothing ever went as bad as with that chimera. For four years she traveled around, until the same man approached her as she was traveling through Spain.
The man told her that she was needed back at Camp Jupiter. Lux feared this would happen because she had heard about the battles that were happening back in the States, but she was in Sweden at the time and kind of missed out on the action. Lux challenged the man though asking him why they needed her now. If she had been gone for so long they were good without her, better off. The man grabbed her shoulder causing electricity to course through her body and said "Trust me kid, they need you now." She didn't even have to ask to know that it was Jupiter, which kind of pissed her off but she knew better than to question.
Lux arrived back at Camp Jupiter just days after the Greeks landed. She has been dismissed from the Legion having gone AWOL but she wasn't severely punished in any other way because that prick Octavian sliced open a stuffed koala and said it was fine she was there. Now she is back at Camp and isn't particularly thrilled about it.

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:
Needless to say Topher felt a lot more comfortable when she started to talk at a normal speed. It confused him when people acted oddly, well odder than what he thought was normal. There was one emotion that Topher had down pact and that was confusion. He could understand why his head felt like it had to go a mile a minute or why nothing made sense, he was confused and that was the first feeling he really understood. Now he was pretty sure he could see happiness, anger, and sadness in another person but he wasn’t too sure how to feel it in himself. Hell at least he was making progress right?
I have never seen snow… Topher said wondering if this Cassie girl was hard of hearing. He had said he had never seen snow. Maybe it snowed in Texas once or twice in his lifetime but if it had he wasn’t there to see it. But she said she would show him snow. Well there couldn’t be anything wrong with snow? That was nice of her to say that, but Topher wondered if it would actually happen. During his first year his mom told him they would go to all these places but they never did. Lex told Topher that it was because she was probably afraid of losing him again, but Topher was pretty sure Vick and Edna were locked up so why would that happen?
I don’t know how Topher said bluntly. If there was one thing you had to appreciate about Topher was that he said what he thought and was almost always honest. Topher was being quite truthful when he said he didn’t know how to have fun. Usually he just passed his time sitting around not particularly doing anything. At home his little brother Jude’s idea of fun was running around outside or playing with toys. Topher found no enjoyment in those things and his older brother Lex was more of the type to sit around and play video games and Topher was actually pretty good at them believe it or not. He could always beat his brother’s at games for some reason…
You ate the salad, but you said you were going to eat the rest. You didn’t. and this was the downside of Topher saying what he thought. He didn’t realize when he was supposed to drop something and when he should push it own. Obviously this was when he should have dropped it, but he just didn’t understand why she wouldn’t eat. She said she was going to eat, but she didn’t. Why say you are going to do something and not do it?
We weren’t talking about anything else… Topher said. Before all the topics they just covered they hadn’t been talking at all. Topher was eating and she came over and sat down. Topher was about two thirds of the way done with his food and was currently inhaling a bag of pretzels. Oh you just had to feel bad for whoever was talking with Topher, he really did lack proper conversational skills.
