All she wanted to do was forget about the place and find somewhere else to settle down, that’s why she had been travelling the world since she was fifteen. Well she told people she just wanted to see the world, but really she just needed to find somewhere else to call home that wasn’t Camp Jupiter. At one point she even tried finding her mom, but when she got to the house she saw the smiling woman from her memories, with a little boy, and a husband; it was a life that Lux knew she shouldn’t ruin.
Leave to none other than her father to send her personally back to Camp. Lux could be all sentimental and what not about it being some kind of sign that her home was really Camp Jupiter, but Lux took it as an order and the Roman in her couldn’t refuse an order, especially one from the Lord of Skies himself. So she brought herself back to Camp after four years of being gone only to find a war ship and Greeks all over the Camp. It wasn’t the Camp Jupiter she had left behind four years ago, which only reinforced Lux’s opinion that she shouldn’t be back there.
Seeing as she went AWOL from the Legion they weren’t exactly thrilled about seeing her back because she hadn’t gone about the proper way of leaving. However they didn’t execute her, they just dismissed her like it was no big deal that she had gone AWOL. That made Lux worry, did they really need numbers that badly that they were willing to not enforce the rules as usual or maybe it was the Greek influence at the Camp either way her sense of duty that had been eating away at her conscious had won over and kept her at Camp.
However that was when she had arrived, now she was back to feeling bitter at being stuck in the Camp that held so many memories that always led her back to thinking about that stupid, stupid day. Just sleeping in the third cohort barracks made her remember those nights with Hank and Lucy or eating in the mess hall made Lux remember when she was a little girl eating dinner with the other legion members or when she. Being in New Rome ripped her heart out having people from her childhood call out to her ask her where she went and looking happy to see her but disapproving of her just leaving and not coming back.
Today Lux was feeling especially angry with her father for sending her back to Camp and even angrier with herself for listening. Lux has always been a level headed girl, but it was a touchy subject as to why she didn’t like being at Camp, which hit a spot that could really get her out of her head. To a mad Lux going up to Temple Hill to give her father a piece of her mind sounded like a great idea, well that was until she got there.
When she finally got to the Temple that was dedicated to her father Lux regretted it. On the alter where she had placed stupid little trinkets as a child, like a lightning bolt made out of twigs from when she was six or the first knife she threw that hit a bulls eye. The worst part was though were the things that she remembered going up there with Lucy and Hank to show appreciation to her father for letting her get to Camp Jupiter to meet them. Hank and Lucy were her family at Camp Jupiter and looking at the offerings just made her mad. Mad enough to be an idiot and kick the alter, which hurt mind you, and say angrily Fuck you dad which got her an angry rumble from the sky. The angry rumble only caused her to smile, good he could be just as mad as she was.

SITTIN ON THE TOP OF THE WORLD YOU GOT THE BEST VIEW LIVIN LIFE WITH A CHEATSHEET NOBODY TEST YOU HUH YOUR HEART IS A CHEST PIECE Thalia didn't really like the Roman camp very much. Being stuck in one place didn't appeal to her at all - maybe that was one of the reason she joined the Hunters. She didn't even stay in Camp Half-Blood long, when the Hunters were visiting. When those two weeks were up, they were out of there faster than they really should've been. However, those two weeks were always busy, and by the time they were over, it was a bittersweet feeling that settled in her as they left. Now, though? There was no two weeks. There was a 'we need everyone united and we're gunna be here until this war is over'. That didn't make her happy at all. She didn't want to be here that long - that was insanity, in her mind. Then again, most of the Ares kids and Hermes kids also agreed - the Romans were too annoying at times, with their rigid schedules and everything else that they did that the Greeks found quirky. Thalia actually liked their schedules, she liked the fact that everything was on time and no one strayed from it - it was something she appreciated. However, she was never one to follow rules, or the word of any others, and so she sort-of went along with the Ares cabin with their want to be on their own homeland.
Thalia didn't have anywhere that brought back any serious memories. Half-Blood Hill brought back a strong feeling of desperation, but she didn't have enough clarity on that day after Luke, Annabeth, and Grover had ran ahead to remember anything but the fighting. It was like she had been selective in what she had kept in her memory bank, even if it hadn't been a conscious decision on her part. What she more remembered were towns - small or big places with few or many people that changed names and faces but always seemed to have the same corner stores that could be stolen from and those alleys that were perfect to hide two, later three then four, people. She was sure that she could walk into those cities, pick out stores and alleys and just know where they'd been - she did it when the Hunters ended up walking her footsteps. It would run through her mind like water in a riverbed, flowing and keeping her almost pacified. She didn't let the memories do much more than smile, or sometimes frown. She didn't live in the past - she knew someone who had, someone who had died because of their need to make things better because everything had been so bad - and she didn't want to ever become that.
Thalia, on this day, was angry. Pissed, actually. She was marching her way all to Jupiter's temple, feeling the sparks playing in the palm of her hand not doing anything about them. Really, she didn't know what he was playing at, having Luke in the Roman camp. Yes, that was what she was so mad about. Mercury's temple was the next target for her fury, because she doubted her father would listen, much less care. However, she'd seen it herself - Hermes was a better father than Zeus when he tried. She stormed her way into the temple, hearing a rumble of thunder above her, and glared up at the supposed-to-be-intimidating statue of her father. "What do you think you're doing, Dad? How could you bring him back, just like that? Do you think it's funny to ---" she found herself stopping short, looking at the girl standing not too far from where she was, and she bit down on her tongue. "Sure you don't love him either," Thalia said, spotting the expression on the girls' face. It was almost a satisfied look - maybe that's where the rumble of thunder had come from. She hoped that the other girl had, at least, got him paying attention. There had been no more thunder since she'd entered, but then again, maybe Zeus had stopped listening once she'd come in. She'd always been the one he claimed was his favorite and then ignored more than anyone else.

and i believe in miraclesBUT THERE'S NO WAY THAT I'LL EVER FIT INTO THE MODERN WAY OF LIVING, ITS JUST NOT ME- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There was one thing that didn’t sit quite well when she was travelling the world was that she never really had a plan. Sure she had some vague idea what country to run off too, but sometimes when a nasty monster refused to die (really that was the worst when the monsters wouldn’t die and kept reforming) flying off in a random direction was the only option. After all Lux is Roman. Ever since she was three years old she lived in New Rome and at four she up and joined the legion. Lux was raised on a regimen, everything was scheduled and you would think that it would annoy such a strong individual like Lux, but it just felt right to her.
However now that she was back at Camp the familiarity was something she missed but at the same time it was what haunted her nightmares. Camp Jupiter was her home; there was no denying that. Growing up at the camp left so many good memories but those good memories always led her back to that one day that ruined everything. So she would rather not be at camp right now, she knew it was cowardly, but she just couldn’t stand being constantly reminded that she got her best friends, the closest thing to a real family, killed.
Even though her father had only really taken a roll in her life twice, something Lux understood. She knew that Jupiter had an example to set and that he was her father and loved her in his own way, but that didn’t mean the god was a good dad. If he had been paying any kind of attention to her life lately he would have known how much she did not want to go back to Camp Jupiter. The old geezer sent her back to the camp anyway, sure she probably had a choice to say no, but she probably would have regretted it in some way or another, Jupiter didn’t like to be disobeyed that left Lux back at Camp Jupiter very angry with her idiot of a godly father.
Usually its hard to catch Lux off guard, the rare times that it did happen usually didn’t end well so she really tried to always be alert. Maybe it was because she was so angry with Jupiter or maybe it was because she didn’t think that anything bad could possibly reach her in camp, a foolish hope she’s had since she was a child. Either way Lux hadn’t heard the new arrival in the temple until she started speaking, which caused Lux to jerk her head in the girl’s direction and grab the hilt of her sword on instinct. That foolish hope she’s had since she was a child was probably what kept her sword contained and not pointed at the girl. There was also the fact that Lux had heard the girl say “Dad” that probably meant that she was a daughter of Jupiter… or was she Greek? So Zeus?
Sure you don’t love him either was what the girl said when she noticed Lux. Honestly Lux didn’t know how to answer the girl’s statement. She never really saw her father in the way that humans saw their fathers. Jupiter didn’t tuck her in at night or teach her how to ride a bike, all he ever did for her was send her to Camp Jupiter… twice. Just because she understood the Lord of the Sky doesn’t mean she loved him or was particularly fond of him. So the girl was right, she didn’t love her father, but she understood where he was coming from, not exactly a comforting thought.
That would be none of your business Lux said defensively. Usually she wouldn’t be defensive, Lux was pretty level headed and spoke what she thought which in turn lead to some pretty blunt statements, but true and reasonable if you got past her potty mouth. The reason she was so defensive was probably because the girl had caught her in a place that was hers, in a place where Lux let her guard down. Either way something about this girl rubbed her the wrong way… maybe it was because the girl was probably a Greek or maybe it was just because Lux wasn’t exactly in the mood to deal with people.
Who are you anyway? Lux asked bluntly as the thought entered her mind.
