something wicked this way comes
“MIKAELA!” Sam screamed as the skirmish went on around him. Deceptions had ambushed them while they were on vacation back home in Tranquility. It was supposed to be a quiet date for the two of them, dinner and a movie, but he should have known the months of quiet after the New Years attack was too good to be true. Of course they would come back. They always did.
“SAM!” she screamed as she struggled where she was in the grip of a Decepticon. Sam glanced around, spotting Bumblebee battling the other Decepticon that had come after them. Mikaela beat her fists against the ‘Cons chest.
Sam raised his hand, preparing to use the so called gift that the Prime’s had given him for the first time for something other than getting the popcorn from the kitchen without getting up. “Let. Her. Go,” he growled as he focused on what he wanted to happen, the hand holding Mikaela to be opened against the mech’s will.
Mikaela continued to struggle. The ‘Con was laughing. Nothing was happening. Why was nothing happening? Sam began to panic. “BEE!”
But Bumblebee was still busy fighting the other Decepticon, one that was significantly larger than the youngling. Sam glanced around, eyes scanning for something he could use to hurt the Decepticon as it tightened its grip on Mikaela. His eyes landed on a stop sign. Maybe. Sam extended his hand towards it and the poll started to stake, but before it could fly out of the ground, the Decepticon laughed again.
“Pathetic human,” it growled as its grip on the brunette continued to tighten. “You, a threat? No more.” And with that, it squeezed Mikaela to the point where Sam heard something snap and her body went limp.
His heart stopped. His blood ran cold. “NO!”
After the death of Mikaela Banes, the young human Prime Samuel Witwicky fell apart. He fell behind in his classes, pushed away Leo, his parents, Bumblebee, the Autobots, resigned from his position as Liaison for the Autobots and rejected the title of Prime that had been bestowed upon him by the Ancient Primes. He wanted them to take back their gift, a gift that should have saved Mikaela but hadn’t, to take back his title of Prime, but they refused to. So he pushed that part of him down, never wanting anything to do with it again, and pushed the Autobots away along with it. For the next three years, Sam buried himself in school work, pushing himself to the point of exhaustion. It was a coping strategy, a way to stop thinking of Mikaela. When brought up in conversation, they had broken up. She wasn’t dead. They simply broke up and those around him knew better than to say the word ‘dead.’ It was in his last year of college that he was given a Medal of Freedom by the President for his actions, and it was there he met one Carly Brooks-Spencer who slowly pulled him from the depression he had slipped into.
Now, it is November 2013, two months since the Battle of Chicago as it has been dubbed. Due to their efforts against the Decepticons, the Autobots have been welcomed back to Earth. The No-Bot movement lost a great deal of momentum due to the actions of the Autobots in Chicago, though a few of them are still around fighting to get the Autobots removed, permanently this time. Sam has once again taken back his position as Liaison for the Autobots and has once more accepted the title of Prime that had been bestowed upon him after he was revived in Egypt. Carly now works for N.E.S.T. as an office assistant, which had been reestablished mere days after the Battle of Chicago. But even with so many Decepticons killed, there are many still roaming the Earth, having been sent to place the pillars for the Space Bridge. But after weeks of silence, having no one now to follow, they are stirring. Someone is rallying them, but who remains unknown.
The battle for Earth is not over. The Dark God is coming. Which side of this new divide will you choose?
