The ship was clearly visible from the sky. The Argo II was landing within the hour, with it, Camp Half-Blood would be joining Camp Jupiter. At first, Percy had thoughts of worries, hoping the Romans wouldn't shoot them down or attack them upon landing. It was a very tentative state Camp Jupiter was in, and he had just barely convinced the Senate to let them land peacefully. He knew with his whole heart he had made the right decision laying his life literally on the line for his Greek friends, but he couldn't shake the anxiety. This could blow up right in his face. But Hera was right. If they were to defeat Gaea, they would have to be a unified force.
As the ship descended, a thought crossed his mind. The son of Poseidon was about to see Annabeth. Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and one of the most important people in the world to him. His girlfriend, who he hadn't seen in easily eight months. His anxiousness switched from worrying about the Roman and Greek intermingling to what would happen. He had just disappeared on her. Would she be angry? Happy? She would want to hear everything, but he wouldn't know where to start. There was so much to explain, so much that he needed to explain to everyone. But up until now, Annabeth's reaction hadn't even crossed his mind.
Percy began to feel regret and a level of uneasiness as the Argo II landed. Then the worst thought crossed his mind. What if there wasn't anything between them anymore? It seemed almost impossible, but the seventeen year old started to think worst case scenario. What if she moved on after a couple months? What if my disappearance caused her to change? It couldn't be possible. But he could never be sure about that. The Greeks began to flow off the ship, and all around him the Romans became tense. He was almost completely unaware of them though. Anxiously, he scanned the masses of demigods. There were familiar faces, but he barely even hesitated on most of them. There was one person he wanted to see.
And there she was. "Annabeth." He whispered it at first. Without even realizing it, a large smile crossed his face, and he started to run toward her. "ANNABETH!"

*I'll watch the night turn light-blue But it's not the same without you~ Pour me a heavy dose of A T M O S P H E R E* The Argo II sailed through the air, gliding gently around the clouds. The idea of an airship had never been one that Annabeth would have considered, so she had naturally been quite jealous when Leo brought it up. She was used to being the one who had all the great new ideas, and not having such a great idea herself hadn’t sat well with her. After a while, she’d gotten over the initial shock and surprise and was glad to be part of the project. Being interested in architecture made the project rather enjoyable for the seventeen year old, and she loved lurking around and watching its construction. She had even lent a hand in the building, though she had left most of the handiwork to Leo, since that was more of his area of expertise. It had taken a while to perfect the ship, but the finished product was amazing and Annabeth couldn’t have been more proud of it. Admittedly, she had been slightly nervous stepping on board since air travel wasn’t exactly her thing, but it was that or be left behind alone. Obviously, the latter option hadn’t been ideal, especially since she wanted to see Percy again, so she’d forced herself to get over the anxiety and actually enjoyed the ride to Camp Jupiter.
Once the ship had fully descended, Annabeth pushed her hair out of her eyes and started to survey their temporary new home. The place looked a lot different than Camp Half-Blood, but it was just as full. She hadn’t even realized that there would be so many Roman demigods, but now that she was there it seemed stupid of her to have never considered it. She’d figured that all demigods of the world were sent to Camp Half-Blood, so hearing about it had sent a wave of shock through her. As soon as she found out that Percy was there, she’d wanted to leave right away, and had been rather impatient when told she had to wait for the Argo II to be finished. Now that her reunion with her boyfriend was quickly approaching, Annabeth was internally freaking out again. She had no idea what she was going to say or how he would react to seeing her again. They’d been separated for so long that she hoped nothing had changed between them and that they would just be able to pick up where they left off, but she wasn’t sure if that would happen or not. Percy wasn’t exactly hard on the eyes and he had a great personality, and she was sure that there was at least one girl at Camp Jupiter who had taken an interest in him. But that didn’t scare her; what scared her was the possibility that maybe he’d taken an interest in another girl.
She trusted him, however, so she did her best to push that thought aside and relax a little. She heard the ship touch ground, and she quickly moved to the edge of the deck so she could get a better view. Her stormy grey eyes scanned the crowd, trying to find his sea green ones and when she didn’t see him right away, she moved to the ladder to climb down. As she did, she heard a voice calling out her name and she turned to see him standing a few feet away from him. Smiling widely, she scrambled the rest of the way down and hurried over to him. When she reached him, she threw her arms around his neck tightly. “I’ve missed you so much,” she said gently, keeping her hold on him.

He was easily in a sprint before realizing that he was closer than he thought. She had barely disembarked by the time he reached her. Her arms went around his neck and he squeezed her around her abdomen, and picked her up. There was such a rush of emotions flooding through him, his eyes actually started to well up. He choked it back though, knowing that even though this was the moment he had been looking forward to since he had woken up with only a memory of this woman, he was a leader figure. It shocked him that in the midst of all the happiness he was feeling, he still had the mind of a leader. The Roman lifestyle had definitely affected him within the few days he had been around it. He decided not to worry about this change now, and loosened his grip on Annabeth and pulled back.
Percy looked directly into her eyes. They were beautiful as ever, and staring into them was the best feeling. "I've missed you too." He grabbed the back of her head lightly and kissed her. The kiss was packed with all the fear and doubt he had been feeling, transferring it into pure love and passion. It lasted long enough that he actually felt drained from it, and he had to pull back to breathe. The son of Poseidon just started at her a bit more smiling profusely. Then, the adrenaline of seeing Annabeth started to fade a bit, and he chuckled a bit. "You look great. I'm...I'm sorry for disappearing. I have...too much to explain. So much." For Percy Jackson, Praetor to the Twelfth Legion and big man in camp, it was an odd feeling to be at such a loss for words. In an effort to conceal his lapse of eloquence, he embraced his girlfriend again. "Girlfriend." He said it out loud before realizing it and put his head down into her shoulder, laughing again. "It just feels amazing saying it."
Looking up, Percy noticed the swarm of Greeks all around him. While almost all of them were familiar, there were definitely a few new faces. "Come on, let's go somewhere...quieter." He grabbed her hand, which was warm and familiar, and led her away from the Argo II. The praetor knew he had so much responsibility to be dealing with now, probably even pacifying potential animosity, but he didn't even care about that right now. All he wanted to do was talk to Annabeth. They walked a couple yards and sat down in the grass, isolated from the chaotic masses of demigods. "Looks like Camp Half-Blood has been working hard. A few new recruits I've noticed..." He looked from her eyes to the sky, and put his arm behind his head. Really? You haven't seen her in forever and you're asking about Camp Half-Blood? Idiot... Chuckling to himself out of nervous anxiety, he corrected himself. "I mean...how are you?"

*I'll watch the night turn light-blue But it's not the same without you~ Pour me a heavy dose of A T M O S P H E R E* Annabeth felt Percy’s arms tighten around her, and for a moment nothing else mattered. Not the crowds of people, or the sound of the Argo II as it settled onto the ground. All that mattered was being in her boyfriend’s arms after not being in them for so many months. She felt her feet leave the ground as he lifted her and she smiled down at him as her arms tightened around his neck. She couldn’t even describe the happiness flowing through her at that moment, and she could tell that he felt it too. It was like the many months of separation had no merit there, though there was still a tiny bit of worry within Annabeth’s heart that things would be different now. They weren’t currently, but there was every possibility that they might be later on when they started talking and hanging out again. It had taken them almost five years to get to the point they’d been at when Percy had been switched with Jason, and the thought of losing all of that progress did not sit well with her. However, everything seemed to be fine right now and she continued to smile at his as he loosened his grip, put her down and pulled back from their embrace.
She met his gaze as he looked into her eyes, and was not anticipating what happened next. Before she could say or do anything else, he had grabbed the back of her head and kissed her passionately and her heart melted right then and there. She had missed the feel of his lips against hers, and she kissed him back equally as passionate. It wasn’t a short kiss, and by the time it ended they both needed to take a breath. They had never been big on the public displays of affection, but somehow this time it didn’t matter who saw. The whole world could have been watching for all Annabeth cared, because nothing could ruin that moment or the happiness flowing through her veins. They stood in silence for a moment, and she had to smile when he complimented her and she smirked at how nervous he sounded. “You do too, but don’t apologize. It’s not like you disappeared on purpose, unless there’s something you’re not telling me,” she teased, smirking at him. “You can tell me in time, it doesn’t have to be right away,” she responded, barely having a moment to react before his arms found their way around her again. She locked her own around him and nodded in agreement at the sound of the word girlfriend. “It feels pretty amazing hearing it too, boyfriend,” she responded with a laugh, running her fingers through his hair a little as his head found her shoulder. After a moment, Percy looked up again and she followed his gaze. There was an even bigger swarm of people now that the Greeks had all descended the ship and the Romans had come to investigate the new arrivals. She nodded as he took her hand, and let him lead her away from the crowd and into the fields. She lowered herself onto the grass beside him when he stopped, and laid her head down on his chest. “Yeah, I guess you could say that. You’ll meet them all soon enough. One of them actually built that ship we came here on,” she said, speaking proudly of Leo. She shifted her gaze to look up at the sky as well, and snuggled closer into his side. She laughed as he corrected himself, then shrugged and pushed her hair away from her face. “I’m a lot better now. How are you?” she asked, knowing the answer she would get but wanting to hear it anyway. Having Percy there would definitely help being stuck at Camp Jupiter a lot more bearable, especially if they got to have moments like this all the time. It felt like there were chills shivering down his back, a manifestation of how amazing he felt emotionally. It felt so natural and amazing, being in each others arms. Percy chuckled in his mind, thinking about the years the two had spent together before they gave in to their feelings. It had been obvious to nearly everyone how perfect the two were for each other, even to the point of the Goddess of Knowledge being worried about it. However, that had been due to his fatal flaw of loyalty, and even Percy couldn't try to deny that the goddess was right. There would never be anything that Percy would choose over Annabeth, even the good of the world. But, in this moment, the demigod saw absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Percy felt ridiculous for having been anxious and nervous about this. After they began talking, everything felt natural and easy. She was literally one of his oldest and best friends on top of being the love of his life. If conversation was difficult between them there was no hope for him speaking ever again. As the daughter of Athena teased and smirked at him, Percy's heart fluttered. "Of course I wouldn't have left you. Ever." He said it playfully as well, but with a distinct underlining of stoic sincerity. Everything she continued to say put him more and more at ease, and he felt his breathing return to normal, even though his heart was still beating much faster than usual. As she said 'boyfriend', Percy felt his eyes welling up. He hadn't ever been this emotionally erratic, but the sound of her voice saying the word was enough to nearly reduce the praetor to tears. "You're definitely right," he chuckled back, and as she ran her fingers through his hair, he kissed her again, much less theatrically, but a loving kiss nonetheless.
The masses of demigods seemed to blur together, and it appeared that the intermingling wasn't going easily, but there didn't seem to be any fights breaking out, and Percy thanked the Gods for that. Even if it was them who had allowed this pathological rivalry to bloom in the first place. "Now is the key word. So much better now. Perfect." It felt gloriously wrong to be here, sitting on the sidelines, apart from what his position would demand. He would have to focus himself eventually, but right now was all about Annabeth, and he wouldn't let anyone, even Reyna, ruin that. "A lot has happened in the last week since I've been conscious again. You guys didn't give me much heads up that you were coming." He poked at his girlfriend teasingly. "But now that I'm a Praetor, I'm kind of a big deal, and I was able to persuade the camp to allow you guys in, on a tentative basis." He was a leader, and it was rewarding to see everything falling satisfiably into place. "How did you guys even find out where this place was?" As many answers that Percy had for her, he had his own questions too. This place was hidden from everything, and especially the Greek counterpart of the demigod race. It was baffling to him that they were able to, one, find out about the place, two, find the place, and three, build a flying ship to take them here.
Though, Percy had been apart of Camp Half-Blood to know how much they were capable. And eventually, Half-Blood and Jupiter would develop to being a phenomenally competent force, one that even Gaea would struggle to reckon with.
