Many things have been on Chantal’s mind as of late. Her problems with her training, trying to keep her brother out of trouble and looking after him. Her parents. And her real father. It was enough to turn a twenty two year old girl’s head. She needed to get away from the camp. Needed to get away to have some time to herself. This week was not a good week for her. She knew she needed to go to one place to clear her head. Her father’s temple. Why she did not know. Chantal was a daughter of Mercury. The thing was, she had not even met him yet. She feared that he thought she was a disappointment. She feared that he would think negative of her. I wish he would drop by, the blonde haired girl as she made her way to the temples. She wanted to talk to him. Tell him what she has been hiding all these years. Asking the questions why he needed to leave her. Chantal didn’t understand everything beforehand. Before she knew that she was a demi god. Even then she did not really have the best childhood. Born to Catherine Lefebvre, Chantal was three years older than her brother. Both of her parents had cheated on the other.
There was doubt in her mind that Alain was abusing Catherine. Of course, none of it was talked about, which was an annoying thing for the demi god. Chantal knew something was wrong but she could not put her finger on it. She sighed softly as she shook her head. Her brown eyes held no hint to what she was thinking right now. Maybe going to Mercury’s temple would do good for her. She had hopes that he would appear when she would walk in. That he would walk to her and hug her and apologize. Chantal knew that was not likely to happen but she still could hope. Her training. That was another thing on her list that she needed to address. She could not believe that she had been slacking off. If there was one thing she would push herself was her training. She needed to be better. A slight scowl was on her face as she slowly walked into Mercury’s temple. She took a deep breath and looked around. Her eyes fell on his statue and drew in another sharp breath. So this was what the Romans imagined him to be like. Unfortunaly she would never know. “Um…hey dad,”
[/b] Chantal raised her head to look the statue in the eye. For some strange reason she felt the need to let everything out. Even if it was not him. “I don’t know if you had forgotten about me. I’m Chantal. Your daughter,”[/b] the one you need to claim. She didn’t say that out loud. “How could you have forgotten about me? You left the moment I was born and haven’t been in my life since. You left me with my other parents. Who weren’t even really parents to begin with! I was three years old when I started to care for my brother because they were never around. Never! What have I done to you to deserve this? I have tried to be perfect. Always. Have I failed you in some way or another? If I disappointed you please. I don’t care how you do it but I need to know you!”[/b] She knew she was being selfish. She resented the others because they already knew who their parent was. Chantal had her back turned to the door as she ranted about almost everything to the statue. It felt good to get things off her chest, even if it meant for a short time. She blinked away the tears that had managed to fill her eyes during the talk. No. She would not cry in front of Mercury’s statue. Crying meant weakness and Chantal knew she wasn’t weak. tagged. Anyone could tell that recently, Luke had kept himself even more busy than usual. The additional absence of the Mercury kid was simple enough; the Greeks had come around. It was easy to tell that if there were Greek demi gods somewhere, Luke wouldn't be found. Unless it was the select few that he had grown close to over the years, and those same few that didn't want to tear him down the moment they saw him; with the exception of Thalia on some days. However, since he had arrived at Camp Jupiter, he was quick to dive into a routine that would leave him with minimal free time. Any free time he found himself with, that he couldn't occupy with assisting someone, he used to add to his training time. He was a skilled fighter, sure, but he kept on practicing despite this. There was something in this camp that he was trying to avoid, and any one that knew him well would be able to guess. The moment he arrived on Temple Hill during the quick tour he had received, Luke had made a mental note never to return here unless he was meeting someone in any other Temple.
To say that he had a history with his father, Hermes, would be putting it lightly. The God of Thieves had started Luke's streak of revenge, which in turn lead to many wrong decisions he had made. Naturally, he found no need whatsoever to be even remotely near the Temple of Mercury. With all that going through his mind, he still didn't truly know why he was currently making his way to Temple Hill on a day he had found himself with more free time then he knew what to do with. He would never admit it out loud, but part of it could have been because he was simply curious about it. After all, Luke had sworn to himself that this second chance at life was going to be a fresh start. After much resistance, he admitted to himself that the new beginning might also be extended towards his father. It wasn't as if he was holding out much hope. He had heard that the Roman side of the Gods were different from the Greeks. Perhaps more violent on some accounts, while opposite on others. The only way to know for sure, before he drove himself insane by wondering, was to check out the temple himself. Of course he could always speak with other Mercury kids, but he had this small feeling that they didn't know what the God was like anymore than Luke did.
It almost seemed pointless to visit a temple to try and find out what a God is like, and Luke was the kind of person that greatly disliked doing pointless things. However, maybe he could speak to his father, and inform him of the new start, and how he might be willing to give him another chance. The more he thought about this, the more it became a bad idea. What if the Gods didn't know he was back? They might not exactly agree with a traitor walking the earth. Then Luke would be getting Nico in trouble as well. With a sigh, he was just about to turn back when he heard someone speaking from inside the temple. Now, normally he didn't eavesdrop unless it was on enemies, but this was another Mercury kid; a half sibling of his. He couldn't help but be curious; something that would get him in danger one day. As he got closer, and heard more of what was being sad, he couldn't help but scoff as he stepped into the temple. “You know he's not going to answer, right? He's not really big on the whole 'being there for his kids' thing.” He couldn't help but but snappy about their father. Even when he noticed that the half sibling of his was one that he recognized. Though Luke knew her more as Alexandre's sister than a cohort member, that was only because he hasn't taken the time to really speak to her.
