- - P E N N I E S I N A W E L L - -A MILLION DOLLARS IN THE FOUNTAIN OF A HOTELTHE CRACKS IN THE CRYSTAL BALL At the very least, the camp was settling down now. Less outbreaks of random raucaus scuffles between the romans and the greeks, and breakfast that morning had been fairly acceptable even, less evil glares and more of people just eating and maybe some greeks almost getting their heads smashed by flying plates. They really needed to get used to the air spirits that served them at mealtimes. But nevertheless, Hazel was happy that the mood in camp was mellowing down as people prepared for the trip to Rome... not that Hazel was particularly looking forward to it. If she had a choice, she'd rather travel on Arion's back, and getting on the Argo was giving her the bejeebies all over her back, but she didn't have a choice she guessed.
What she did have though, was time, so she decided to actually make full use of the short time she would have back in camp jupiter to relax, after all the stress and pressure from the quest and the meetings with the elders afterwards. calling arion from wherever the amazonian horse had been grazing this morning, the chestnut stallion responded to her call easily, wanting food more then anything she was sure. but food she had offered him, making gold bars and silver plated jewellries pop up at her feet. she had fed the proud creature for a good ten minutes, laughing as he whinnied at her words, and wondering just what would Percy translate had the son of Neptune been around. But Hazel had hardly seen any of her friends since they came back, with everyone having separate duties, and Jason and Percy constantly in meetings with Reyna, Hazel felt quite... useless. Never mind her already the youngest of the group, she felt quite unable to contribute to anything really.
She had let Arion go after a while, giving the horse free rein of everywhere, before Hazel wandered back to the campsite, more specifically, the Little Tiber. She remembered the place, the first place form where she had set eyes on camp Jupiter. Her heart had went haywire back then, she hadn't understood why Nico had b rought her back, she had just known that this was a world she had never seen, never been in, a world she was 70 years too late for, why did Nico bring her back? of course, the reason smacked her in the face now, but how was she to know back then.
Quest or no though, the day was too good to pass up, and since all her friends were busy, Hazel didn't see why couldn't she just unwind a little. Taking off the flip flops she had worn that morning, the girl placed them on the grass and sat down on the ground, letting her feet dangle in the water as she lay back down. Her denim shorts and black tank was probably getting grass stains al over, but Hazel would deal with that later when she got back to the dormitories. Right now, just laying there with the water lapping at her feet and the clouds rolling above her, was too enticing to pass up.

SOMEONE ONCE TOLD ME YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU WIN OR LOSE YOU CAN'THAVE EVERYTHING DON'T YOU TAKE CHANCES YOU MIGHT FEEL Alex had always been terrified of water. Any water that rose higher than his ankles, and he completely flipped out. Being near deep water freaked him out, as well as just being around water that people could swim in in general. Rivers, ponds, even if it was shallow, scared him. He could feel his heart race, his chest tighten, and every piece of skin pale, making him look ghost-like, especially if he was in the sun. The son of Venus wasn't one to admit any of this, but really, anyone with good observation skills could see that he never went near water, and he was quick in the baths. He didn't even drink water - juice, soda, whatever else, he was fine. with. Drinking water was "controlled drowning", in his mind. He didn't care where the water ended up in your body, or what it did, or how it was good for you, or ... whatever else smart people could spout about the benefits and facts about water. He'd never be a child of Neptune, he'd never be the type of person that would find swimming fun, he'd actually never go swimming. That being said, he hated Chantal for what she was doing. He'd probably hold it against her far longer than he'd ever held anything against anyone - his record was three hours. He'd hold this against her for far longer than three hours.
She'd been telling him that, even though she understood that he was afraid, and that his reason for being afraid was also completely understood, he had to fight this fear. She said he wouldn't be able to live with it - live in a healthy manner with it - because water prevented him from doing so many things. He was perfectly fine with not being able to go swimming or drink a glass of water because really, he was nineteen and not dead yet, so obviously he wasn't doing major damage. He wasn't going too close to the water by any means, but either way, he was getting somewhere. Really, he avoided water all together, like water was worse than Tartarus, and he had to go out of his way to make sure that he went near water that wasn't the baths once a day. What he really wanted was to be able to forget what his sister asked for had ever come out of her mouth, and that would be the end of that. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, and moved closer to the Little Tiber. But he was quite a distance away, and he knew Chantal wouldn't be happy with what he'd managed. Despite that, he stared where he was, quite far away and that was that. It was all she was going to get, and he was mighty proud of the effort he'd put into getting this close, even if there was a girl with her feet in the river, ten times closer than he was. He thought he knew her, taking the back of her person in from a distance, but then again he could be mistaking her for someone else. He sighed, plopping down a ways enough away, and tried to relax, thinking that staying here for a while would be fulfilling the requirement for the day.

- - P E N N I E S I N A W E L L - -A MILLION DOLLARS IN THE FOUNTAIN OF A HOTELTHE CRACKS IN THE CRYSTAL BALL Daughter of Pluto she may be, but Hazel did enjoy the occasional splash of liquid against her feet once in a while. Not that the girl liked swimming all too much, but on a day that was hot as the hell fire and humid as ever, the girl liked having the cool river waters of Little Tiber against her bare skin. Shorts had been necessary of course, the girl barely wore anything above her knees, but she was too lazy to deal with damp jeans or cargo pants, so shorts it had been. She knew though, that not everyone was as fond of water as she was. Oh, the children of Neptune of course, was born for water. Percy especially, was a natural with the liquid as much as Hazel could manipulate underground passageways, but certain people avoided water like how Percy avoided the sky at all costs.
Alex, happpened to be one of those people. Looking up when she felt the presence of someone else at her back, the young girl of thirteen squinted, and then widened her golden flecked eyes when she realized who it was. One of the camp Jupiter campers, she recognized the child of Venus. and practically everyone on camp knew about Alex's fear of water. So what exactly was the man doing here?
Withdrawing her feet from the water, Hazel shook off her limbs to get some of the excess water off her skin, before she pushed herself up and waved at Alex with a smile on her lips. Starting towards the man as she straightened her tank top, she winced as she felt the slightly damp feet of hers meet grassy ground, but Hazel wasn't about to put on her slippers with wet feet, so barefooted it was. As soon as she got within earshot of Alex though, the girl wondered out loud, "What are you doing here? You avoid this place like the plague." came her question, before a cheeky grin replaced the curious gaze. "Do you want me to bring you closer? Its really not that hard, Alex." The obvious tease was prominent in her tone, as Hazel smirked at Alex, standing a feet or so away from him with her hands on her hips. Don't you think she wouldn't do it either, she just might, if provoked.
