So Together But So Broken Up Inside
To most people, Leo seems like a confident, happy person who makes lots of jokes, most of which aren't very good. This is more of a cover, something like a raincoat, which really hides how broken he is inside. Leo has never been completely whole ever since his mother's death, something that he believes is his fault. People don't get why Leo would feel this way. They would say that it was Gaea's fault that Esperanza Valdez is in Asophodel Fields right now. But Leo thinks otherwise. If only he hadn't used fire. If only he hadn't done... whatever Medea saw he'd do in the future.
People sometimes envy Leo Valdez. He's the leader for the Hephaestus Cabin, One of the Seven, has lots of friends, and is the first Fire User in centuries. Leo does love his life and his friends... but he still wishes he was a normal mortal boy named Leo Valdez, who ran a car mechanic shop with his mom. His friends and his family in the Hephaestus Cabin are helping him tape his broken pieces together. But what helps are the Letters, which is something new, and Leo's biggest secret. The Letters are to his mom, and are all in a simple, red spiral notebook. They mean the world to Leo, and they make him feel as if he's talking to his mom. The part about them that hurts though is the fact that Esperanza Valdez never responds back.

Someone Like You - Adele
Nevermind I'll Find Someone Like You
To say that Leo likes the ladies is the understatement of the year. Leo LOVES women. He is a hopeless romantic, the key word in the sentence being hopeless. Leo is likely to be single forever, because of his type. The type? Woman out of his league. Leo likes beautiful women, and because he is... Leo they do not feel the same way. Leo is a persistent person though, so woe to the poor woman who accidentally captures his heart. Unfortunately, the poor woman at this moment in time is Thalia Valdez Grace. As Leo would say, that woman is fine!
Leo has been known to let go of the lady he currently loves. Ever heard of that D-list Goddess, Khione? Leo did fall in love with her. Leo thought she was beautiful, just like snow, and her brown eyes were just pure amazing. However, when Khione rejected him, he managed to get over her, especially when he met Thalia. The fact that the Huntress treated him like gum on her shoe just made Leo fall even more in love with her. Leo even fought Khione himself at the Wolf House. Nowadays, though, Leo is creating plans to make Thalia see why he should be the one for her.

Into the Fire - Thirteen Senses
Come On, Come On Put Your Hands Into the Fire
Last but not least, fire. Leo believes that fire is a curse, and has been plagueing him for his whole life. He hates his curse of being a Fire User. He would prefer to be like Jason, who, quote on quote, is "BAM! Lightning man. I am the eagle that soars!" Or even Piper, whose talent is charm speaking. Even if Leo had no cool superpowers at all, he'd prefer to have that than the gift of control over fire. Leo's gotten used to it, but he still wishes he was never plagued with it.
There are some benefits to fire. Leo managed to save his friends from evil hungry Cyclopes with his Fire User powers, and it was thanks to Leo and his fiery aura that they even managed to defeat Khione and her minions. Still, though, the first thing that Leo thinks of when the word 'fire' comes to mind is his mom's death. Which, thanks to him and his fire powers, was Leo's fault. This is something that will forever and always haunt Leo until his dieing day.

Lily was not completely covinced when the blond said she wasn't looking for anybody. When she had arrived, she had looked around the Warehouse, as if she was looking around for someone. Lily let the matter drop, though. If the girl was not going to tell Lily who she was looking for, Lily wasn't going to push the subject. It was probably not too important... though it might be. You never knew with these suspicious Hyde people. Lily played with one of her curly blond locks on one of her fingers, though she wasn't really looking at it. She was looking at the blond instead, wondering what on Earth could her name be. Should she introduce herself, then wait for the girl to follow suit?
But the blond had beaten Lily. Her name was Virgina. Like the state, Lily thought, though she wasn't foolish enough to say it out loud. Despite the fact that there was the "freedom of speech" thing in America, some Hyde would probably kill her if Lily said something wrong accidentally. That was life with the Hydes for you. When Virginia asked if she was Lily, Lily nodded quietly, the only noise she made was the gentle brush of her curly blond locks on fabric and icy-pale skin. She probably wasn't being very interesting to Virginia right now, but Lily was in a quiet mood to day, which was very rare for her. However, when Virginia asked how she was liking her lifestyle, Lily couldn't help but say, in a sarcastic tone of voice, "do you want the lies or the honest truth?" Then, realizing this might get her into trouble, or worse, Lily put a hand over her mouth for a quick second, then released it. She couldn't have another rant, or another word that had stepped a toe out of line, like she had with Emma.
In the period of two seconds, Lily debated how to answer Virginia's question without getting in trouble. Virginia might report it to Jeffrey or Ernest Hyde, and that might lead to more trouble for Lily. Carefully, Lily said, "I guess it could be worse. It's a bit lonely, to be honest. Jeffrey doesn't let me explore much, and there are more boys than girls that's part of this... organization or whatever you want to call it." Yep, that sounded fine. Perhaps if Jeffrey heard this, he would let her explore more. Lily had given Jeffrey the slip a few times, but if he would loosen his iron grip, maybe Lily could explore without becoming wet. Becoming wet to hide her scent, anyway. "I-I-I don't like killing the humans, though," Lily said. A little voice screamed at her to stop speaking, to shut up so her existence would be more likely to continue. "I just feel bad. I don't want to kill humans. I remember that they had lives before they came across me... and possible futures... and it just feels selfish. To kill them for my own benefit. But I guess there's no other option, right?"
Lily looked down, her face now looking worried of whether or not she would get in trouble because of her tongue.
