ANYTHING ELSE: A lot of people would say that Zoey's the extremely quiet type that keeps to herself and doesn't bother with other people. A lot of people are mostly right. While she is a very shy, quiet type, she does try to communicate with others. Usually her voice is too soft to be heard. However, if someone speaks to her, she can easily carry on a conversation. She's always willing to help people, even if it goes before things she had to do for herself. Some people take great advantage of this, and she's become known as a pushover. While Zoey highly dislikes bullies and people who are overly arrogant, she's not one to stick up for herself. She gets startled easily, and doesn't think much of herself.
Flames have a sense of mystery about them, they can be calming, but highly disastrous at different moments. Zoey is the exact same way. She has an amazing sense of patience, even when it comes to things that annoy or anger her. However, once things become too much, or something/someone stirs her up too much, her temper will be unleashed. Much like when the winds kick up and the flames spread high and far, they both can be destructive. In the end Zoey usually ends up apologizing for anything she might have said and didn't mean, because she values friendships so highly.

HISTORY: For most of her life, the April born child believed that Donna and Eric Callaghan were her birth parents. While Donna was her biological mother, her father was most definitely not Eric. Zoey Callaghan's father was the God, and Donna planned on keeping this secret from her. While Zoey went on unaware of her god parent, Eric was perfectly aware of it. It was the fact that his wife had conceived a child with another that made him absolutely despise the girl. Since Zoey's true father was only around long enough to cause her existence, Donna began to resent her daughter for simply reminding her of the God. It was because of this that Zoey grew up thinking that parents that order you around, and act like you're nothing better than dirt because you haven't proved otherwise, were normal. She set forth on her plan to try and please her parents, and took every opportunity to do so – which her parents used to their advantage.
Throughout grade school it became apparently that she had a habit of fidgeting. Constantly. It was a problem for her to be able to sit still in a desk for lengths amount of time, and she always longed for recess. Her hands were always moving, whether she was drawing on her notes, or twisting scraps into each other. Between the teachers always smacking rulers on her desk when she wasn't paying attention, and her parents always screaming at her, she started to develop her fear of sudden loud noises. When she started high school, her fidgeting and fears only grew worse. Zoey also discovered that not all parents were like hers. Though this was only noticed when she went over to friends' houses after school. It didn't matter to her, however, because her parents were unlikely to change. She still catered to their every whim, and listened to their degrading speeches when she did something wrong. It wasn't until her first boyfriend, Corey, that things changed.
Not only did he convince her that she was nothing unless serving someone, he made her believe that she no longer needed to be listening to her parents. Why? She was now under his command, and no longer needed anyone else to tell her what to do. Zoey had been getting top grades in order to try and get approval from her parents, but once she started dating Corey, she stopped caring about school. All she really cared about was making him happy, and everything else went on forgotten, including her favorite past time of drawing designs. However, months later she discovered he was cheating on her and ended the relationship. In a fit of fury, she destroyed his car; slashed the tires, carved her name into the passenger seat, and keyed 'cheat' into the front hood. After she had calmed down, and he came at her yelling, she apologized time and time again, and offered to pay for all the damages. The only thing she took away from their break-up, was that she clearly hadn't been good enough for him if he had cheated.
Zoey began to focus on her school work, and resumed her position as her parents slave – for lack of a better word. She spent her free time in her room with her sketches, books, and keeping an eye on the news through the internet. There were constant reports about odd occurrences across the country. It was weird to her, that what they were reporting was different than what she saw in the images or videos. It wasn't the only weird thing going on in her life currently; when she actually focused on her gadget making, she could nearly make anything she imagined. If she was in a good mood, the creations were helpful, while the opposite mood had the opposite effect; messy creations that were dangerous. This would usually result in her scrapping anything threatening before her parents found out. She got into this routine for about a year; coming home from school, doing things for her parents, and then retreating to her room. It was in her junior year of high school that Derek came along. He was nice to her, and seemed to care enough to attempt to get her out of her situation.
Zoey trusted him, as she did everyone she met, and told him her tale. How her parents were, and how if she ever fought back they would tell her that she was lucky they didn't just kick her out, and that she deserved to be treated as such. She also told him about Corey, and how he wasn't much better. Derek simply smiled at her all the time, and told her things would be okay. They promise to graduate high school as a couple, and both ended up applied to colleges in California a year early. That way they could leave this place and be together without any interruptions – that's what he kept telling her. He was her knight in shining armor, and she fell for the illusion so hard. During the summer, he had fooled her into getting intimate with him, and the next day he broke up with her. She never heard from him again after that, and it only solidified her idea that she was put on the planet to be used and abused. Zoey ended up getting rejected from the California college, but told her parents she had been accepted.
Since she had still been following the news, she had heard about the battles, and about the camp. Well, she had gotten an e-mail from a stranger, but it had all turned out to be legit. So she dropped out of high school, packed her bags, moved out to California. Once in the state however, she realized she had no idea where she was supposed to go. It was that day the wolves found her. She first found it a bit odd, but it was clear that they wanted her to follow them, and so she did. Zoey ended up at Camp Jupiter, and after getting the tour and the rules, it came time for her to be claimed. Thankfully, she had managed to make a quick friend in the Third Cohort who stood for her. It wasn't too long into her stay at Camp Jupiter when she was claimed by her true father, Vulcan, and with how friendly everyone else seemed to be, she was starting to feel like she actually belonged here. When the Camp was threatened, she was quick to volunteer to work in the Forges to make more weapons and armor for the fighters. It was something she was able to do far better than her battling skills, and now that there's an evil on the rise, she's going to be very busy.
