★ - - - - - - - - - - - - - The solution was so simple that Lux nearly rammed her head into the nearest wall when she realized how simple the answer was. Ever since she got back to Camp Jupiter she wasn’t able to escape the people that remembered her from four years ago or the curious newbies that wanted to get a peek and the daughter of Jupiter. Going into New Rome didn’t help because the people who lived there for a while had known her since she was three years old. The members of the Legion knew her because back in the day she was a centurion, a senator, and well on her way to praetor, all that and being a daughter of Jupiter tended to attract attention. It didn’t help that back then Lux was a bit friendlier and actually didn’t mind being near people, which tends to result in friends or in the very least acquaintances.
Anyway long story short there were people everywhere and Lux just wanted to be left alone. Since she’s been back, a few days after the Greeks arrived actually, Lux has been trying everything to get away from all the people. First she tried alleys in New Rome, no such luck. It was like she had a big neon sign pointing at her saying LUX IS HERE, COME SAY HI, AND ASK HER NINE BAJILLION QUESITONS ABOUT WHY SHE LEFT AND WHAT SHE WAS DOING THE LAST FOUR YEARS. Then she tried sneaking onto the Greek ship, to get a bit of a DIY tour. It didn’t work because apparently Greeks are crazy alert and have a dumbass attack man. She almost thought of hiding in the Temple of Jupiter but really she didn’t want to spend all her time sitting in the presence of her father…
Finally though she found her solution, it was the sky. Being the daughter of Jupiter it was one of her abilities to manipulate the wind and fly. Why she hadn’t thought of it before was beyond her, but when she figured it out it was probably the happiest moment she has had at camp since she’s been back. Actually she was so ready to finally get some time to herself where she could just be away from everyone she ditched the scheduled activities for the day and took her dear time in the baths and eating in the mess hall before she set off to the fields.
Once the fields were in sight Lux felt her feet lift off the ground and before she knew it she was floating about twenty feet above the fields. She was floating as if she was lounging on the most comfortable couch in the world with a cigarette in her mouth, which she made a bit more effort to make sure it didn’t get blown out by the wind. As she floated in the sky it was like she was almost completely at peace. In the sky she could leave all her thoughts on the ground and just relax, maybe it was because she was the daughter of Jupiter or maybe it was just because floating around like a cloud was super relaxing.
She was probably floating around for half an hour to an hour not really paying attention to where the winds took her, only occasionally checking to make sure she was still above the fields. When she looked down this time to make sure she was still in the fields she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Curiously she turned her head to see a figure in the fields. Figuring nobody would bother looking up in the sky for somebody Lux floated a bit closer to see who it was. She had no intention to engage in any kind of conversation or interaction with the person, she was simply curious as to who would be out in the fields during the day when most people were working or training or in school.
When she got close enough she couldn’t help but think she knew the guy. He looked so familiar… After about five minutes of floating behind the figure about ten feet in the sky, she sunk closer to the ground to get a better look. When she realized who it was she gasped causing her cigarette to fall out of her mouth and before she knew it she wasn’t floating anymore and crashed back down to the ground. The guy was Solo, the kid that had a crush on her back before she left camp. Back then she ignored him and treated him simply as a friend because she was busy with Hank and Lucy or training or climbing the ranks of the Legion. Solo wasn’t a kid anymore though and the changes came to such a shock to her that she fell from the sky and landed on the ground with an Ooomph and then a groan because lets face it landed on your back flat on the ground from ten feet wasn’t very comfortable.

Solo wasn't completely unawares that there was someone around him. Lupa teaching him how to hone his senses attributed to it, but as he was walking back to camp, he could feel them get closer. That was when he heard something fall. Turning around he unsheated his Stygian Iron Rapier in a single fluid motion, and pointed it at the person that had snuck up behind him. Holding it at the girls throat, a menacing look in his brilliant blue eyes. Something seemed familiar about her, but he couldn't place his fingers on it, and the natural aura of fear that he radiated intensified. A snarl curved onto his lips for a split second, and then his face was a perfect mask of calm. It was unsettling that he could switch from one high to another in a split second. The way she stared at him made him slightly uncomfortable, and he felt a tugging in his chest. Something about her made him feel elated, but he pushed those feelings aside.
The girl was attractive, that he could not deny, and on further inspection of her person he found a cigarette. "Those things kill people...I would know I am a Son of Pluto. Death is what I do. Now tell me who you are." he said, but on closer inspection he already knew who it was, but refused to allow his eyes, or body language to show it. Her eyes told him the story of who she was, and she had once been someone that he cared deeply for. Lux had been the first girl he had ever fallen for, and when she left it damaged him. He had shut down, and focused on becoming the best that he could have possibly been. He had a one tracked mind now, and seeing her made him feel confused, and conflicted, but he would maintain his ignorance about her identity.
Duos came out of the shadows the eight foot tall hellhound loomed over Solo, and Lux sniffing the air, and he growled slightly. Solo was sure that if he didn't stop his pet the two headed hellhound would eat her. "Duos down.." he said calmly to Duos, and he watched as his pet backed down, and lay beside Solo. His black eyes shut, and he folded his paws to lay his head on. Solo knew that his pet wasn't asleep though.

★ - - - - - - - - - - - - - Okay so Lux had to admit she really wasn’t being as stealthy as she could be. Years of being in the Legion and really only remembering a mother figure as Lupa the wolf, well that would make anybody pretty good at being a warrior. If this was outside of Camp Jupiter Lux probably would have been a thousand more times careful than she was right now. Actually if she was out in the real world she wouldn’t even have been floating around a field, she probably would have been constantly moving so the monsters didn’t all come at her at once. The four years she was gone was basically one monster after another coming after her and the few moments of downtime she spent keeping track of where she was and where she was going. There wasn’t much time for sightseeing when at any moment some ancient monster might attack you.
Since she was in Camp Jupiter though Lux had barely taken any precautions when she was trying to figure out who the person in the field was. If the person was any good Roman they would have sensed that she was there the closer she got to them. Really she might as well have gone Yooohooo look over here! Do you know me?! Honestly she could have at least summoned some clouds over to give her a bit of cover. It was that delusional thought that nothing bad could happen in Camp Jupiter that kept her from being cautious because if this was in the real world this guy could be sent to kill her for all she knew, crazy shit like that happened all the time.
Good thing it was Solo, someone Lux knew that she was creeping on because if she was wrong and actually didn’t know the guy… well that would have been awkward and potentially problematic. Lux actually resisted the urge to say Well no dip Sherlock when he pointed out that cigarettes could kill people and he was a Son of Pluto. All of that she already knew, but what took her by surprise was when he asked who she was. Lux knew it was Solo from ten feet in the air. However up close there was something different about Solo. Sure back in the day he was kind of a distant kid, but now Lux wasn’t even sure if he had shown the slightest bit of shock that someone that has been missing for four years just fell out of the sky right in front of him.
There wasn’t even a sign that he knew who she was, well that was sad. However Lux tried to see it as an advantage, one less person she could let down, and one less person she could get killed. On the other hand it irked her a bit that he didn’t remember her, seriously of all the people to not show a care that she was back… Anyway Lux was about to say some comment about her identity when an eight-foot hellhound appeared out of the shadows. Lux didn’t even flinch when she saw the two-headed dog. She looked at the two-headed hellhound as it laid down on command then looked back at the sword pointed at her throat.
Sighing she just pushed the blade away with her hand before standing up and brushing herself off. After she got a particularly stubborn spot of dirt off her shirt she looked back up at Solo and said Developed a bad memory have we? Should she even bother telling him who she was? Should she save herself the worry? No, it was a miracle he hadn’t run into her earlier or even heard that she was back, it was only a matter of time before he found out. Its Lux, long time no see.

The girl spoke her name, and said something about him developing a bad memory, and he sheathed his Rapier. Staring at her his eyes froze over, and he could barely contain the venom leaking out into his voice. "Not a bad memory I just don't like to remember people who have screwed me over. And not long time no see. Too soon if you ask me." he said to her turning his back to her. The wound in his chest was about to burst open, and he was trying to contain his anger, but it was spilling out, and the results were the shadows around them starting to twist, and turn like they were made of water. They started to creep closer to him, and Duos must have sensed his emotions because he opened one of his eyes, and stared at Solo. What was she doing back here, she left, and he had hoped after a while she wouldn't ever come back. Gah how pathetic him falling for a Daughter of Jupiter. What he wanted to do was summon his skeleton warriors, and have them get rid of her, but that wouldn't solve his problems.
"What are you doing back? You ran away for a reason, and to be honest I was kind of hoping you would stay that way. No one here needs you. I don't need you here." he placed special emphasis on the I in that sentence to make sure that it was clear. The normally emotionless son of Pluto was now conflicted, angry, hurt, and a whole list of other things that he didn't like. So he forced them back into the dark recesses of his mind, and looked at her. Turning his head so that he was looking over his shoulder he stared at her with his unnatural icy blue eyes. The damage that this girl had wrought upon him was not forgotten. Finally calm once more he climbed onto Duos's massive back, and waited for her to say something. She was exactly as he remembered her. Only bigger now, more grown up. None of that would affect him anymore though he had grown up since she left, and he didn't need anyone in his life except Duos. Him, and his pet could take on the world.
"Why did you run away in the first place. I forget wasn't it because you didn't get Praetor, or something like that. I have a bad memory remember so please refresh." he said to her a sneer curving on his lips, and the sun making his naturally pale skin seem illuminated by the light. After this meeting with her he would be sure to avoid her at all costs from now on. Duos stirred a little bit, and snorted blowing dust into the air. Before finally drifting off into a nap. The giant hellhound would eat the girl given the command, and Solo might just have him eat her. She was as stubborn just like any other child of Jupiter, but that was just a trait of their family he thought. He was Stubborn as well. Part of being half god....

★ - - - - - - - - - - - - - Woah. Well someone had developed quite an attitude over the past four years. Honestly the last time Lux checked she hadn’t screwed anybody over. So far the only shit she had gotten was when she first got back, but they looked past it because they needed her in the time of war and all that jazz. After he kind of sort of yelled at her Solo turned around leaving Lux completely lost. Okay well she had to admit that she had left without saying goodbye to anyone, meaning Solo wasn’t the only one she left wondering what the hell happened to her. Then there is the fact that nobody knew why she left because the incident was contained and not really discussed, everybody just heard that Hank and Lucy died, nobody knew how or why. Added on to all that Solo had a crush on her, and Lux knew it… Ooops…
It kind of stung a bit when he asked why she was back and went on about how he didn’t want her back, that no one needed her back, especially him. Good thing she has been practicing her calm, not a care in the world face because she was putting it to good use right about now. If someone were to walk by the pair they probably would’ve thought they were talking about something casual like what a nice day it was or puppies. Sure a shocked look crossed her face when he spoke, but when he turned back around the calm look returned to her face.
Well excuse me for coming back. she said defensively and crossed her arms across her chest. If Lux had been any kind of coward she would probably be scared right now, but she knew Solo and honestly how could she be scared of him when she remembered the kid he was. Okay so the whole darkness around him thing was a bit freaky, but Lux had seen freaky things in her life so she was used to it all by now. However it kind of ticked her off because she didn’t even want to come back and the whole unwelcoming vibe Solo was giving off just wasn’t helping. I came back to help with the war, so once this is all over don’t worry I’ll get out of here Lux told him. Actually she hadn’t told anybody she was planning on leaving after all this was over simply because it was too hard to explain why.
Then he asked her the question that everybody asked, but the added on bit was a bit much. The Solo that Lux remembered wasn’t such a sassy little prick because honestly the last bit about her not getting praetor made her sound shallow and then when he repeated that he had a bad memory it just made her sound like a bitch. It took her a second to realize that her jaw had dropped a bit and she was just staring at him not really knowing what to say. Of course he didn’t know the real reason she left. Actually she has yet to tell someone why she left, so far she’s done a pretty good job at dodging the question by diverting the attention from herself.
I left… Lux started to say but then stopped. If he was going to be such an ass to her then why would she tell him? He probably would probably make fun of her or make her feel like shit because so far he was doing a pretty good job at it. At the same time though she didn’t want him thinking that she left because of something stupid like not getting praetor. She did have a good reason for leaving, but why would she want everybody to know and give her that look. You know the look people give like “oh I’m so sorry” or that other accusing look that people gave when someone got their friends killed. So instead of answering the question she diverted the attention from herself like she’s been doing since she got back and asked him, Why do you care why I left? It seems like now you wouldn't.
