I GUESS I'LL MAKE
MY OWN WAY
NAME: Lady Artemis
NICKNAME: Diana, Goddess of the Moon, Goddess of the Hunt, Goddess of the forest and hills
GENDER: female
SEXUALITY: heterosexual
AGE: ageless, likes to appear as a pre-teen
BIRTHDAY: N/A
SPECIES: goddess
IT'S A CIRCLE
A MEAN CYCLE
HEIGHT: can appear as any height, prefers 5'3"
WEIGHT: can appear as any weight, prefers 100lbs
DISTIGUISHING FEATURES: Artemis is very pale. She still resembles a pre-teen so she has no zits, and she is a goddess so she's free of blemishes and other skin problems. She is the goddess of the moon so she doesn't tan, and if she was human she most likely would be the type of girl who would burn in the sun. Even though she can appear to be any height or age, Artemis stands at a normal height for a twelve-year-old. She is a little under five feet tall and is very light. She weighs around 90 pounds, but she doesn't look it. Artemis has the normal kind of build for a twelve year old girl. She's flat-chested, short, skinny but she's rather athletic seeing as she is the goddess of the hunt. Artemis has two forms, goddess of the hunt and goddess of the moon. When she is seen as the goddess of the moon Artemis usually wears her hair up and is usually seen wearing a long gown. Usually Artemis is seen as the goddess of the hunt, so when she is spotted she usually wears her hair up in a ponytail, a short tunic, holding a bow and quiver and her golden stag is usually at her side. Artemis has shoulder-length blonde hair that is usually straight and bright blue eyes that seem to pierce into you and can see right through you.

I CAN'T EXCITE YOU
ANYMORE
LIKES: hunting, battle, her brother, her mother, her father, being a god, her bow & arrow, appearing as a pre-teen, animals.
DISLIKES: men, scorpions, her brother, Hera, Kronos, looking "old", when people mention Orion, horny men, titans, death.
STRENGTHS: strong-willed, caring, honest, good fighter, neutral on most subjects
WEAKNESSES: doesn't trust men, rebellious, vengeful, easily angered when certain buttons are pushed, doubtful
DREAMS: to be the best hunter she can be, to not let herself get hurt again
FEARS: falling in love again & losing it, the world ending.
FATAL FLAW: her hatred of men
PREFERED WEAPON: bow & arrow
ABILITIES: archery, hunting, etc.
ANYTHING ELSE: picky: Artemis has been described as many things, and picky would be one of them. She is typically reasonable and knows when she is wrong she will accept it and make amends (unless she feels she is right in all cases). She makes more of an effort to understand the female species of humans rather than men because of her disdain for the male species, but she feels she can connect with girls more than men. If a man proves himself to her she will tolerate him and learn to care of him as well, but in the meantime she really only cares for her hunters.
honest: Artemis can be rather blunt when called upon, especially with boys. Girls she tries to cushion when she had to tell them bad news, but boys she'll tell them outright She doesn't care enough about the opposite sex to spare their feelings, especially since she connects with women more than men, so when it comes to being honest she'll just let them have it no matter how much it hurts.
damaged: Artemis can be described as "damaged" by many of her peers. She has never gotten over the death of Orion, the only man she will ever love, and only recently has she started to put the pieces together of how her brother apparently helped Gaia kill the man because he was jealous of his sister's affections for Orion. Ever since the death of her love, Artemis has sworn off all men-even just being friends-she hates men and everything they stand for, but mostly because she is afraid of getting hurt again (that, and the dramatic little girl in her keeps wailing she will never love again). She often looks up to the sky towards Orion and longs to see his face again, but she can't. Not anymore. Artemis uses Orion to guide her in her hunt, swearing at times she can hear his voice as if he was right with her as he once was, and when she goes off by herself she usually sits there and talks to him. She knows he won't answer her, but it helps her cope and makes he feel as if he's still there. Many times after Orion's death Artemis pleaded with her uncle, the god of the Underworld, to give Orion back to her but Hades refused every time. Her visits to the Underworld slowly dwindled down to her refusing to get her hopes up and be shot down in her request again, so Artemis stopped going. She knows that Orion is down there, and she still secretly hopes that Hades will allow her to take him back with her. In the meantime, she keeps up the front that she hates all men to mask her pain.
caring: Artemis cares deeply for her hunters and most girls that do not know of love (or maidens) for they are her kin. Even though she is ruthless when hunting, Artemis has a soft side that very few if anyone sees. She loves animals, and when she feels that she should not have slain a creature, she has the ability to bring it back. She loves her hunters as if they were her sisters, but if one of them breaks their oath she is ruthless and shows no pity for them. Her opinion is that a hunter's oath is their life. If they break it, then they are just horrible people. She doesn't want anyone to experience the heartbreak that she had to endure all those years ago, so when a hunter breaks her oath to swear off men she gets a little peeved because she fears it's her past all over again, (though Artemis never broke her oath, but ALMOST did).
independent: Artemis stands on her own most of the time. She keeps to herself and she doesn't like people getting into her business. She doesn't need a man to make her happy and she doesn't really need anyone except for her hunters. Artemis's life is dedicated to the hunt, and nothing else. Only once did she feel differently, but even then she defends the idea of being with a man that if he was a hunter (like herself) they could be on the hunt together and she could continue through life with that person and her hunting. She loves the hunt and ever since she was a child she's wanted to always be able to hunt. That is her main goal in life and that is what makes her happy. She doesn't need a man to make her happy, but if she got one she'd be seriously confused.
rebellious: Artemis has a rebellious streak. As much as she loves her father, she doesn't always put up with his rules. She keeps in touch with her hunters when she is on Olympus, even though her father told her not to, and she constantly puts in her opinion about things.
WHERE'S YOUR GABLE
YOUR JURY
OLYMPIAN PARENT: Zeus & Leto
MOTHER/FATHER: Hera-Stepmother
SIBLINGS: Apollo-Twin Brother; Ares-Half-brother; Athena-Half-sister
PETS: silver stag
HISTORY: Artemis is the first born child of Zeus and Leto. Her twin brother Apollo followed soon after her when she was born. Hera had forbidden her mother to give birth to the twins anywhere on earth except for the floating island of Delos. Immediately after Artemis graced the world with her presence, she helped her mother deliver her brother, Apollo, into the world. When she was three years old, Artemis asked her father to grant her a wish that she held dear to her heart. All she wanted, more than anything, was a silver bow and arrows to go with it. The second thing that she desired was to take a vow of chastity. Her passion for hunting was something she loved more than anything in the world and she couldn't afford any distractions from it.
Zeus was not entirely sure if that was a good idea, but since he loved his daughter so much and held a special place in his heart for her, he granted her wish, and he also allowed young Artemis to take away her oath of chastity whenever she wanted. Artemis lived happily without a man for years until she met a special soul. One she felt something for. A man who she almost retracted her oath for. He was a huntsman, a son of Poseidon, a giant, and his name was Orion. Upon meeting him, Artemis and Orion formed a relationship, slowly falling for each other over the time they were together and then it happened. Orion made a boast that he could kill any animal or creature on earth and that provoked the earth goddess, Gaia, into sending a scorpion after Orion to kill him. Artemis heard of what Gaia had done and she ran to Orion's side to try and keep him safe, but she was too late. When she found Orion he had been killed by the scorpion's sting, and she blamed Apollo for his death. What she didn't know was that Apollo had been jealous of his sister's affections for the man and had Gaia send the scorpion after Orion to kill him. As a final tribute to Orion, Artemis formed both him and the scorpion into constellations in the sky. Since the death of Orion, men were banned from joining the hunters of Artemis and Artemis never allowed herself to be attracted to another man.
Over the years of her existence, Artemis had been pursued for her virginity. Many creatures and gods pursued her and tried to make her their wife, only to be rejected and killed by the young goddess in their attempts(but only if they were distasteful). Nothing really eventful happened in her life until the Norse gods decided to come in and her father (among the other gods) decided to make a peace treaty with them. Artemis is pretty neutral on the subject, using the saying some mortals use called "being Switzerland" in this situation, and she does not mind the Norse gods, but she is afraid that the two sets of gods will not get along when the time comes and they all need to band together to help one another.
YOU'RE NOT A JUDGE BUT

ROLE-PLAY SAMPLE:
Night. It was always night when the goddess of the hunt set out into the world. It wasn't that she couldn't during the day, but it was at night when she felt the most alive. The girl pulled her hair up into it's signature ponytail, straightening her tunic and gathering her arrows. It was almost time to get on with the hunt. What was Artemis hunting today? Nothing in particular, but she just felt like hunting. It was a feeling that was pulling her in this direction. She had sent her hunters off on their own miniature hunt, wanting to be alone for the time being, and started off in the opposite direction. What was it about tonight that was so important? Why did she need to be out and about tonight? Artemis continued on her run, her golden stag appearing by her side seconds after she started out, following his goddess every step of the day. He knew something was going to happen, but she couldn't tell what he was thinking. The girl continued on foot, her ponytail flying behind her as she ran. She always felt so free when she was hunting, it was an unbridled feeling that she could never forget no matter how old she got. The feeling of the wind in your hair is nothing compared to the thrill of the hunt. Absolutely nothing in the world compared to it except... Artemis felt her mind wander to an earlier time. A time when she felt something that may have surpassed any feeling the hunt could have given her. Love. It sounds crazy, the virgin goddess of the moon falling in love, but it almost happened once. Orion was a strong man who loved her as much as she loved him. A fellow hunter, her love decided to boast that he could kill any creature he desired, thus angering Gaia enough to set a scorpion upon him and murder him. Artemis heard of Gaia's deed and had run to Orion's side just in time to see the scorpion sob him of his life. Artemis never recovered. The only man she'd ever loved was gone, and for what? Nothing. Orion was a gentle soul. He had no reason to die. After Orion's passing, Artemis sent his body to the sky to form the star system Orion. To this day Artemis couldn't look to that part of the sky without a pang of guilt consuming her. At times, she could swear she could hear his voice calling to her as if he was just around the corner ready to embrace her yet again.
"Artemis!"
The goddess stopped dead in her tracks, the stag skidding to a stop beside her as the girl listened out. It was definitely a male voice, but whose was it? The little voice in the back of her head remained hopeful that somehow it was her lost love returning to her, but then another voice piped up that it could be a trap. Whoever it was, the screams of her name became louder and more frantic as the seconds went by. It felt like hours, but soon enough Artemis had convinced herself to start off in the direction of the voice. Through the trees and over the fallen logs, Artemis practically flew, following the voice that called her name as she pulled out her bow and arrow, knowing full well she should be prepared for what she may see. The goddess burst into the clearing where she heard the voice, shadows of her memory starting to come to life as she saw a giant scorpion and the form of a man backing away from it, still calling out to her. Artemis took aim, her brows furrowing in concentration as she released her arrow right when the scorpion was poised to strike-only for the arrow to go right through it and stick itself in a nearby tree. The scene dissolved before her like a golden mist and Artemis fell to her knees. These memories haunted her much more than any of her other nightmares. This was the time she felt truly helpless. She couldn't save Orion, it just wasn't in the cards, and now she paid the price for not being quick enough. The girl wiped her eyes and looked over to where her arrow hand landed, walking over and pulling it out of the tree trunk. Placing the arrow back into her quiver, the girl turned to leave when she noticed something catch her eye in the moonlight, something small and white. Artemis leaned over to where the shadow of the man had stood and dusted away the leaves that had blown over there to reveal a small moonflower that had started to bloom only moments ago. The girl smiled down at the flower, gingerly touching its petals and looking up to the sky. She felt her eyes well up but she refused to cry, it wasn't something she was known for, and gods usually didn't feel so much, but she kept company with pubescent teenage girls, she was more in tune with her emotions than most gods. Artemis lifted her bow slightly, tilting her head in an accepting fashion to accompany the gesture and smiled up at the stars of Orion. "Happy anniversary, my dearest friend."
