Cassandra had never felt like less of a human being than at the moment. She was no longer herself, she was a different person. She was no longer Cassandra Evelyn Black, she was no one anymore. She couldn’t tell anyone how many times she had felt ready to cry in the time since she had meet Kane. In fact, she had cried more than once, though she made sure not to do it around anyone. She hated sowing weakness, but now, she couldn't help but let her regret, and her certain lying lately. She couldn't take the lying, being secretive any more at the moment. She hated it, she absolutely hated it. She hated lying to Kane, she wanted to tell him the truth, but she didn't want to lose him. Her heart ached, and she wanted it all to end. All this pain, and suffering, well, it didn't match that she felt when she was near him. It couldn't even come close to it.
Cassandra had come to the temples, a place she never visited. She didn’t see any reason to visit them, she had come there once, whenever she had just arrived at camp, but that had been the last time. She closed her hand tightly around a rose she had in her hand, the thorns cutting into the skin in her palm. She closed her eyes, debating whether this was the right thing to do. She glanced up to the temple she knew as her grandmothers, taking up another breath before walking up to it. The dark pink color it was drew her eyes every time she went near the temples, always leaving her with a bad taste in her mouth, and it did so now as she looked up at her grandmother’s statue. She blinked for a moment, before placing the rose at the feet of the statue, looking up at the statue, her eyes narrowing. She was ready now, she wouldn’t hold back.
She backed up a few steps before taking a breath and asked, her tone barely above a whisper, “Why?”. She waited a second before going to explain herself more. “Why did you have my mother? Hm..? Did it give you pleasure to have a miniature of yourself? Are you that selfish? I wouldn’t doubt it if you were…”. Her eyes widened as her anger grew with every sentence she uttered. “Well if that was your goal you accomplished, she was as selfish and self-centered as any person I have ever met! You know, I bet you were glad she was! Then she was just like you! Her looks and herself were her favorite topics! You know how often she asked how I was?! How often she even looked at me as anything other than a human Barbie doll that she could manipulate to doing her bidding?! NEVER! She never did!”. Tears filled her eyes as she spoke. She hated crying, it showed weakness, but at that moment, she could have cared less. Her hands formed fists as she shook her hands as she spoke. “Why did you let me live? Why?! I want an answer! If all you were going to do was ruin my life, my mother ruined her own, I DIDN’T! You find this some sick joke don’t you?! YOU JUST LOVE PLAYING WITH THE HEARTS OF MORTALS! Like we are your play things! Your children, and grandchildren, there hearts are just child’s play now aren’t they?! Because you think you can control them! BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST LIKE YOU! You want to know something?! I refuse to be like you grandmother! I REFUSE, I REFUSE!”. She couldn’t help the tears that were falling down her face at the moment. She shook lightly, with rage and depression.
She calmed herself down for a few moments, taking a few deep breathes before saying “Why? Why do you hurt me? I would never hurt a person…. using their own heart against them… This…I will never be like you, I would rather die first, Venus. I HATE YOU!”. She wiped at her tears as she spoke. “I won’t be like you..let me DIE before I do…I hate you…and that will never change.”. She shook her head and froze lightly. Someone was there, and she knew someone was there. Her eyes lit up lightly at this revelation, she was caught, though she didn’t know just how caught she was.

* - - - - It was funny, for some reason taking a walk to the temples seemed to be one of the best things Kane could do with his time these days. The switch from Camp Half Blood had hit him hard at first, but there were so many things that he liked here at Camp Jupiter. These temples, for example, were something that Kane was truly fascinated by. The way they were all built to fit the skills, likes, and personalities of each Olympian. It was perfect. Visiting Athena's, or Minerva as they seemed to call her, temple was mind clearing and refreshing. Kane had made coming up to Temple Hill something he did when he needed a pick-me-up.
As he was walking he let his mind sort of open up to all of the sounds that were going on around him. He was good at listening, and doing this came in handy for eavesdropping, but it also was another way to relax. It seemed as though he had a lot of ways to relax but not that much to stress him out. Then again with a temper like his father he needed multiple ways to keep calm.
Walking by the temple of Venus, or in his world Aphrodite, he heard someone yelling, ranting to something on the inside. Curiosity got the best of him and he walked up to the doorway of the temple. Before the giant statue of the goddess was a girl her had met a couple of times now. A girl the somehow managed to stay on his mind. Her voice softened and he couldn't make out the words she was saying anymore. Kane, shifted his weight from one foot to the other, deliberately dragging his foot on the ground to signal someone was there. She lifted her head and he lifted an eyebrow as he crossed his arms. "You alright, Cass?"
